Summer came to the computer.Cooling fanWhat if it's too noisy?
Time quickly entered May Day. In these short days, the weather has changed a lot. The highest temperature in Beijing has risen to 36°C in the past few days. I believe that friends in most parts of the country are beginning to feel the breath of summer. In addition to taking off your jacket and turning on the air conditioner, rising temperatures have another impact on us, and that is the problem of computer heat dissipation.
We see the most computer cooling method or traditional air cooling. The principle is nothing more than using a fan to suck in the surrounding cold air and blow it on the heat dissipation fins close to the surface of the CPU to take away the heat emitted when the CPU is working. The more advanced side-blowing air cooling and the air cooling with a lower pressure heat pipe pass through the evaporation and condensation of the liquid in the heat pipe to transfer the heat from the CPU surface more efficiently and are taken away by the fan.
Even if it is a water-cooled radiator with a higher upper limit, the fan is also an essential component. When the room temperature rises, the cold air used to dissipate heat is no longer so cold. If you want to take away the same amount of heat, you need a larger amount of air, and the fan speed will increase accordingly. The faster the fan turns, the natural noise will become larger.
Since I came to work last week, the noise next to me has been getting louder every day. The itx chassis, which was thought to be small and beautiful, has now become a sultry coffin for the hardware. The extremely high-speed fan buzzing nearby greatly affects work efficiency.
Today, I 'd like to share with you several ways to solve the fan noise.
1. Change the fan. Generally speaking, the price of the fan on the radiator is relatively cheap. If you think the current heat dissipation effect is OK, you don't need to increase the heat pipe, just reduce the fan noise. Then, a more advanced fan can be replaced. Such as the famous "cat fan". Owl fan is famous for its no lights, large air volume and low noise. It has no disadvantages except that the price is very expensive. The use of cat fan can reduce noise to a certain extent.
2, change heat dissipation. If your radiator needs to run at high speed to meet demand, then a stronger radiator only needs to run at low speed, and the noise will naturally drop. For example, downward pressure type for side blowing type, side blowing type for water cooling, 120 water cooling for 360 water cooling and so on.
3. Change the chassis. In order to meet the demand for mute, some chassis on the market are lined with mute cotton, and mute fans and thick enough chassis walls are used to isolate noise. For example, the author uses the first horse black hole 7 chassis at home, which is a good cheap silent chassis.
4, throw away the fan. In fact, heat dissipation is not only a way to use a fan. Some friends who like to pursue the limit will even remove all the fans in the chassis and use passive heat dissipation. Or, pour oil with large specific heat capacity and non-conductive oil into the sealed chassis to cool down.
